Progress!!!

Finally things are working out!! So I have recently read Tosca Reno’s book “Eat-Clean Diet Recharged” and things just clicked! I already knew about what food were clean and what portions should look like.. but I don’t know… things just came together and I got it! So Sunday I sat down before going to do the groceries and I organized my 6 meals a day for the upcoming week! So I went and bought my food and prepped what needed to be prepped. Then it was like magic… the lbs were just dropping off my scale!ย 

I started Monday at 180lbs (heaviest I have ever been in my life, an quite depressing actually) and this morning (Friday morning) I weighed in at 173.6lbs!! How crazy is that!! That’s almost 2lbs/ day!! WHATTTT!!!! So I know this is basically all water weight but still haha progress is progress and it’s just nice to see the scale number drop instead of climb!ย 

So anyways, I had my cheat today soo I will have to see what my weigh in will be like in the morning. I also pick Friday as my cheat because I know I always go to the gym and go hard during Step Class at my local Goodlife! I usually burn about 510 calories in the 45 minutes (as per my Polar). However, I kept more under control this week for my cheat. I use to eat an entire bag of chips… like family size haha plus chocolate! Lol I never fucked around with my delicious cheat foods โค ๐Ÿ™‚ But I tried to make smaller portions of cheats now! Then I don’t undo all the work I put in throughout the week!!!

Will continue on with this clean eating approach for now as it seems to be working!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Everyday getting closer to that goal!!ย

Where Have I Been!!!

Where have I been!!! Well I have been picking myself up and running after my wagon, trying to get back on it!! I fell off the blogging wagon haha And if I’m being honest the weight loss/change in lifestyle wagon too ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Waaaaaa!!! But you know what they say, it’s not how many times you fall but how you get back up!

I this time I feel as though I have caught up to both of those suckers and am just trying to get comfortable! I have been back at the gym every morning and on the weekend for the past couple of weeks and am now writing my first blog in a while!

So while I was gone away to Quebec city it was hard to keep the diet in check and did not make it to the gym. Thus, basically have gained back all that I have lost. I was so frustrated and upset with myself to let this happen. Even more, I was embarrassed! Which is why I had refrained from blogging!ย I was feeling down on myself and had a hard time finding the motivation to blog or to workout and eat healthy. Plus I did not want to take any progress pictures since I knew I wouldn’t like what I would see… so I basically just avoided it! I know, I know it’s no way to deal with a problem lol Anyways, the important thing is that I have found my motivation and that I was able to catch up to those darn wagons!

So I have cleaned up my diet and continue to do so! I have been going to the gym at least 6 times a week and I shall try to blog at least weekly! Keeping it focused! C’mon, Let’s do this!!!

Meal Prep Sunday!

A couple days late with this sorry! But this was my meal prep this past weekend for the upcoming week! I know ham isn’t the leanest meat but I really enjoy it! Plus I don’t have it every week… just every now and again! Moderation is the key!ย 

The prep:

4 x ham, asparagus, baby potatoes

3 x lean ground beef, cucumber, bell pepper, and a bit of greek salad dressing (vinaigrette)!ย 

I also have some greek yogurt portioned out into 1 cup, some granola and some fruits for a mid morning snack while at work!

Preparationย is the key!ย

Progress!

This is one of the reasons why I like taking weekly pictures!ย 

In both collages, the picture on the left is Week 1 and the picture on the right is Week 5.ย 

Each week I take progress pictures in which I wear the same outfit and try and do the same poses and hold the phone at the same angle. Then the pictures look alike as much as possible which help when comparing them.

One of the reasons I like doing this is that it is easier to see progress in weight loss. I can say that I am very hard on myself and have a difficult time seeing results/changes when just looking at myself in the mirror on a day to day bases. Sometimes all I can see is that I am not where I would like to be when I look in the mirror. Which is odd because sometimes I just feel like a sexy slim/fit bitch lol and then I look in the mirror and I am like damn this body does not reflect how I am feeling right now! So when I look at this pictures I can see that my back looks different, with less back rolls hahaha, and that my waist and legs have slimmed out. I can even tell that my face appears slimmer in the picture on the right compared to the picture on the left.

Another reason why I like to do these progress pictures is because you can’t trust the scale… she a lying bitch for sure! lol So in the weeks of this weight loss thus far I have only managed to shed maybe 2-3 lbs, according to the scale. Which can be very discouraging if that is all you are looking at. Imagine, eating clean and working out 4-5 times a week for 5 weeks and only loosing 3 lbs.. .depressing.. Makes you feel like your efforts aren’t worth shit and that basically you are fighting a losing battle! So if you can look at your picture and actually see progress it’s very encouraging! Gives you motivation to keep pushing and to keep eating clean! Like your efforts are paying off and can do this!ย 

This pictures remind me of how much work I put into this and that it is working; that I just need to keep pushing and that I can and will attain my goal. It may be not tomorrow, or next week, or even next month but I know I will get there. And I know that as I get closer to it the better I will feel. Weight loss is able about hard work, good nutrition and being consistent!ย 

So to anyone out there who is feeling defeated or feels like there are no changes, try taking weekly progress pictures and see if this is successful in motivating you! I hope it does! ๐Ÿ™‚

End of Week 5

First off happy Superbowl to whomever is watching it right now!ย 

I myself just came back from the restaurant where we celebrated a friend’s birthday! I am currently regretting my food choices as I now feel disgusting! So bloated it’s unreal… Thank goodness for peppermint tea tho! Brewing a cup as I speak, well type ๐Ÿ˜› Always helps me digest after a big meal, love it!

Anywho, back to serious business! These are my pictures from this week after completing my 5th week! Still nothing crazy regarding changes but there are some, such as, smaller back rolls! Which makes me more than happy, because really… who enjoys having back rolls… definitely not this girl…

I also switched it up this week, I did make it to the gym everyday, minus Thursday for a rest day, and I didn’t work on different body parts every time I worked out. Just wanted to try out something new at the gym… and it seems to be working. At this point I assume that as long as I’m doing SOMETHING then hopefully the weight will come off. I build muscle pretty easily,ย so if after I lose some weight I find that I do not have enough muscle tone then I can go back to daily muscle groups. But more cardio based workouts are better for me at this point I think. If I find it’s not effective, then I can tweak it then.ย 

Monday: 40 minutes of Body Shred,

Tuesday: 35 minutes Spin Class

Wednesday: 40 minutes Stairmaster

Friday: 35 minutes Pump Class

Saturday: 45 minutes Step Class + Leg Workout

Sunday: 35 minutes Body Flow + 20 minute incline walk

Furthermore, I didn’t even keep track of macros this week. I know what foods are healthy so ate those when I was hungry. I tried to keep the bulk of my carbs during the day, and just a little bit at supper time, tried having a good amount of protein and tried having a good amount of veggies. And my scale went down throughout the week. I would even say that my eating wasn’t 100% clean everyday but that the numbers on the scale continued to decrease so that’s encouraging.

So ya just going to keep going and push through it! Had some rougher days this week where I felt like giving up and just sleeping in and not going to the gym but I made it! And I know that even know I can’t always see them, small changes are happening. Just need to remain patient and I know I will see the big changes when they come!

End of Week 4

Alright, here’s the pictures from the end of week 4!

Alright so! Same shorts but different bra (which only cost me 10$!!)ย 

So in comparison to the beginning of this lifestyle change, I think that my back is where I see the most changes! I feel as though my back rolls aren’t as big now and that some of my muscles are coming out of hibernation! I think I can see some changes, slightly, in the waist, using the head on picture.

I’m happy that I am seeing changes for sure! However, I am a regular person and therefore am slightly impatient at this time and wish the changes would happen faster! The crazy thing is that my weight is not really changes. Which makes me believe that my lbs of fat are hopefully being replaced by lbs of muscles!ย 

This week I am going to the gym before work… I was going during my lunch time before but now I feel as though it’s not enough time for what I wan to accomplish! I’m also trying different things for cardio to try and get interested in doing it. So far, it’s going not too bad!

Anyways I shall keep working hard at the gym and making healthy choices! Things will happen I am sure! Just need to push on through!ย

End of Week 3

Well week 3 has come and gone.

Do I really see any changes… meh not so much yet… however, do I feel any changes? Hells ya! Which is nice! I feel, less bloated and generally happier! I know I haven’t really lost anything weight wise, however I feel as though my clothes are looking better? So either it’s just I’m feeling better or it’s because I may have lost a little bit in places I haven’t been measuring! Either way, it feels nice to feel better in my clothes haha Also, have not ripped any pants while getting dressed this week , so that’s a plus haha

Plus, I don’t know if anyone else has this but I always feel that I look better naked hahahaha before I throw on these shorts and this sports bra! I feel like I have less rolls or something..? Anyways.. maybe it’s just me haha

Measurements are pretty much staying the same. However, (sorry fellas) but I started my lady time the day I take my pictures and my measurements and let me tell you… it makes a difference! I have been feeling much more bloated and feeling less sexy haha Even my weight went up by a few pounds the last couple days, which I am assuming is from the bloating! So I dunno there’s no sense in getting all bummed about it and letting it wreck my day right! I know by next week shit should be back to normal… bloating should subside and so should the random tears!

So I know I said I would attempt to complete additional cardio, however I’m not going to lie , I did not complete this haha I actually only worked out 4 days last week… instead of my usual 5-6 times! However I did make it to yoga on Sunday so yay!

Just going to keep working at it!

End of Week 2!!!

Alright here it is (a little late I know!!)!!! The end of week 2 and the start of week 3!

So my weight has gone down a few since last week (nothing crazy like 1-2lbs haha) and after doing my measurements I have also lost another inch! ๐Ÿ˜€ ย Like I said it’s nothing crazy! But progress is any kind of progress!! I will take anything as long as I’m moving in the right direction!! I think some people get to caught up on not loosing “enough” fast enough and then they become discouraged! However, it is more important to remember that you are making more progress than the person who is sitting on their couch! More progress than you were before you started on this beautifully hard journey you have bravely embarked on! So instead of kicking yourself, give yourself a tap on the back! You’ve decided to make a change and you are changing, may be slower than you would like but you are changing.

I feel like my eating was more on point this week and my workouts went well! I even had a hardcore 70 minute home workout! (and let’s be honest, home workouts are sometimes hard to get motivated for)! So yay!

This week I will try to get more cardio sessions in! That is my goal for the week! I’m going to set out to complete at least 3 cardio sessions this week and hopefully that will help with some weight loss! Because even though I try and ignore this, cardio is important in weight loss… I’m obviously not a big fan of it haha I have no problems with weight lifting however… I find it less boring because you’re not doing the same thing the entire workout! So to get over this boredom, I’m going to try and do some cardio centered group classes at my gym! Hopefully that is helpful!

Week 1 progress?

Well week 1 is officially over (thank goodness). I must say I think my motivation level was pretty good and so was my discipline (until this today lol). I was even asked to join to co-workers to lunch but declined because I had brought in my healthy lunch! So yay!

So here is this week’s pics!

Really nothing too dramatic.. or even really noticeable… like at all… for change thus far lol but must not get discouraged!

So this week all of my numbers are the same really… except that my weight actually weight up (waaaa) but that my waist measurements has actually gone down 1 inch!!! So yay!! Proof that you can not solely trust the scale!!!

So this week, my eating was not too bad at all! However, I think I will try and stop eating my carbs at night and focus them more around my workouts! That’s when I need all the energy anyways right!! So that is one of my goals for this week! Also I think that I might need to make meals at the beginning of the week as well as in the middle of the week! The reason for this is because this week I actually ran out of meals, and that led to me eating easy to prepare foods – AKA unhealthy and mads fat!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ So just need to make sure that I am on top of things and prepared! Preparation is key!!

Well that is it for this week! Hopefully these changes will be effective! I shall re-evaluate at the end of this week prior to started week 3!!
